It's bittersweet for me, since I came of age before Title IX and even though I was tall and strong, I was advised to hide it and act weak (advice given by "helpful" adult women, who were just making sure I stayed "marriageable&quot

I get very emotional when I see women athletes who're confident in their height and strength! I know those medal winners are role models for all the gawky teenaged girls who rue their size and want to be petite. I wish I'd had the courage to tell those well-meaning women to f**k off and continued on my own athletic path. As it is, I'm making up for lost time for the rest of my sordid life!!!

me for the next decade and half. in our family, i was treated the same as my athletic boys. i came along right when title IX had been implemented in the school system and everyone was working hard to enforce and succeed.

it really is a different world for us.

i wish you had the support to be able to say.... fuck off, too.

Football, Basketball, Baseball, Golf happen every year. Once every 4 years, Sistas get some attention, but when we can command as much of an audience and revenue as the blokes, I'll consider that an even playing field.

As for me, I love watching the guys in just about any sport. Male athletes get a rep for being lunkheads, but they've been the least threatened by my 6'1" self, and they usually have a sense of partnership and teamwork.

And they're usually HAWT!
