I’ve lived my whole life in Iowa. My state, like Colorado, and others, get snow every year. People are used to driving in it, and generally know how to do so safely. And yet every year, during the first snowfall, you’d think drivers had never even heard of the stuff, and roads end up looking like the picture.

As far as I have seen. It also happens in California the first time it rains after a dry spell. The oil on the roads makes it just as bad as ice and people think they are invincible and their new car will improve their driving skills.

All problems on East-bound lanes apparently. I used to drive that constantly and it can be a nightmare when slick or visibility drops.

They always are, on mornings like that.

I didn't enjoy my years working in Denver, but I sure as hell developed a love for reliable mass transit.
