The fashions, on RFD-TV's re-runs of "Hee Haw."
Sideburns out to there, leisure suits, etc.

(21,046 posts)I see modern op-art type fabric prints, the dreaded colors of burnt orange, avocado green and harvest gold.
When I moved into my house, which has been the family home for several generations, it looked like a 1970s nursing home, since my grandparents had lived in it until the 1980s.
My grandmother had ugly valances and draw curtains across beautiful windows that were 2 feet wide by six feet high. Rolled glass. She made it look like a cave. She also had wall to wall carpet. We ripped out the curtains and put white miniblinds in the windows. We ripped up the wall to wall carpet and found beautiful hardwood floors that were in excellent shape. And this place was built in the 1880s!!

(21,020 posts)when we were trying to sell our home and move closer to civilization, we looked at a home that hadn't been redone since the 1970s.
The kitchen had harvest gold appliances and funky ass wall paper, fake wood cabinets and valences, etc. Straight from the mid 1970s.
I loved it and totally would have left it as it was had we bought it.
Unfortunately, nobody wanted to buy our house, so...

(46,327 posts)I'd see those ads in "Archie" comic books.
The clown ones and those little helpless puppies and kittens with the HUGE eyes.
