When the kids were really small we got the small fireworks, including "flowers". Our dog at the time, a golden and collie mix, loved them and would chase and bite and bark at them and roman candles. We had to lock him in the back of the house to prevent him from playing with the fireworks and getting hurt or going crazy with barking. Our next dog was so scared of any loud sounds we had to medicate him on the 4th or he'd cower, hide & pee out of fear.
