Being a NYT puzzle, it's not out of the realm of possibility.

27. I read that the NYT went through and changed some answers. The creator of Wordle is British

and I find the words to have a bit of a British element to them. At least different than the basic way we grew up doing hangman or Wheel of Fortune (which is hangman). The Times mostly reviewed for answers that might have an American sensitivity to them as I understand.

They don’t seem to be date specific like say the Fourth of July so I thought my way out of a 2. Feast did pop in my head.
