A 10" color television and a Radio Flyer wagon. The Radio Flyer for sure and the television maybe were made in the US. It's too bad the Radio Flyer doesn't have pneumatic tires.

My parents wanted a set in the house, but didn't want to spring for Britannica.
One cool thing is that Compton's sent out a yearly volume with new history & revisions to existing entries.
I always looked forward to that showing each spring

(21,849 posts)I don't remember those wagons make their way into the 1970s. But then again, I lived in New York. They might have been still used in the Midwest.

(16,184 posts)I can picture myself in the brown corduroy jumper dress my nom made me. Hair pulled back with a barrette.
Same carpet, same tv. Same ambience.

(65,078 posts)I was unaware those existed. I know I never saw one and we had lots of kids in our neighborhood.
Now, I wish I had one when I was little.

(57,508 posts)Those were the all-terrain models. You can upgrade a standard Radio Flyer to an all-terrain Radio Flyer by installing the pneumatic tires.
I find mine invaluable for hauling home loads of goodies from the Aldi.

(65,078 posts)My wife's friend has a yard cart with pneumatic tires. She has RA so being able to get all her stuff in one shot is useful and she loves the gardening.
I've never seen a wagon like this with those tires. But, it's a great idea.

(57,508 posts)It's like an LTD instead of a Custom, if you think of it in terms of 1967 Fords.
This here would be your Country Squire. These kids are riding in style.

(65,078 posts)Our friend's yard cart looks very similar except the platform has much shorter walls. Probably only an inch.
I've also seen similar carts used by pipefitters in manufacturing sites, but those are heavy duty as there might be 300# of fittings on it.
It's cool they put those on a wagon.

(57,508 posts)With solid tires, it's called a "Town & Country."
Town & Country® Wagon: Wooden Wagon for Kids
With pneumatic tires, it's called an "All-Terrain Cargo Wagon."
I had one. My brother threw it away.
The all-terrain version looks as if it has a longer wheelbase. It appears to have more legroom. The wood panels won't interchange.
