I think my holiday kicked off on its own

I spent yesterday working on a craft gift, and all I can say is I'm really glad I had a lot of the right kind of glue, and it wasn't toxic Last evening, I got a live balsam centerpiece in the mail, no card. I suspected one of 2 people of gifting me. I was right that it was my daughters' parents-in-law.

This morning I mailed out the first batch of cards to friends and relatives. Then, I had a nice long chat with the m-i-l. We have become pretty good friends over the years. My daughter and her husband will celebrate their 30th in a few days. Wow!

While we were talking, a gift from my best friend arrived. My gift to her is supposed to arrive at her house today, so maybe we'll have a remote gift exchange

We are all using texts to make plans for getting together. Not sure we will all be in the same place at the same time, but it's not for lack of trying.

I'm really glad we are all taking plenty of time to enjoy the holiday. I didn't mean to start this early, but the extra time for planning is really taking the stress out ot it all

I know this time of year isn't fun for everyone. It isn't for me, either, but it happens every year, so we may as well eat festive food, look at festive sights, and catch up with the people we like or love. Maybe something will lift our hearts and we'll feel some joy

We won't have a large gathering, same relatives who got together at Easter. Thankfully all vaccinated and boosted.
