Don’t go visit your family if it compromises your mental health…or your physical health!

We just told family we weren’t coming to their annual holiday party…too many unvaxxed people. Some of them are having a big mad about it. We’re letting them sit and stew. Too bad.

In this end of the state we are having high infection rates of all three options for respiratory virus so I'll still do what I was doing, stay home, mask in public when shopping.

I hit the stores yesterday in my KN95. I only had a few stops but I couldn’t see why I wouldn’t wear a mask. I do see people wearing them quite a bit, but then again, Missoula. If I don’t have to be in public, I’m not.

Very much the same as it was two years ago. I remember telling people here, on DU, that I expected to still be taking all the precautions after a couple years. Pandemics last a minimum of three years, vaccine or not, more like five years - if they settle down or go away at all. I expect I'll still be wearing masks in public next year at this time and probably in 2024 too.

Funny, I was just discussing this with a sister over the phone. She travels for work and is around people all the time, fully vaxxed and masks up all the time, better than getting sick. She said her daughter told her the same thing about the length of pandemics back in 2020 too.

And I had dinner at my buddy's and we had the same discussion before I talked to my sister. It's a topic for discussion. My county is pretty hot right now so I am not interested in public outings yet.
