I never remember my mom doing this evil, but I do fondly remember my mom serving my dad a big ole heaping of lime Jello with mayonnaise on top.

(90,714 posts)Grated carrots, raisins, finely chopped celery in orange Jell-O was one I remember
The other was whole-berry canned cranberry sauce, in raspberry Jell-O, and I think it had chopped walnuts and sour cream she loved taking that places as a dessert
Not all those recipes were awful, but honestly I would never put leftover mixed veg in a lime gelatin since I always hated those bags of Birdseye frozen mixed veg in the first place.

I like the dessert ones where you mix the jello powder with cottage cheese and then add fruits. Lime with pineapple again my fave.
Never had a savory jello dish.
