Here's to hoping for a better 2023

The year 2022 has brought some highlights for sure, whether it be politically speaking when Dems won many midterm races and America soundly rejected trumpism and the big lie. Personally, it was nice to travel so much, check a couple of states off the bucket list in West Virginia and Tennessee while going many places to add to my signed Sports Illustrated collection, plus a very nice vacation in Pennsylvania and success on the job. I also got to see one of my best friends I hadn’t seen in nearly two years due to him moving to another part of the country.

That being said, I’m at the age all the years seem to run together. My success with my job hasn’t come without great sacrifice and dedication that’s led to burnout and mental exhaustion while we’re short staffed. Being so stressed out, I’m very forgetful. The person in my department left at a not-so-good time, but he showed he couldn’t handle the job and didn’t seem as serious as I did about it.

He did get married this year, and the loneliness does get to me from time-to-time, especially since I have a small family, not much and only went on a couple dates this year. I’m hoping I meet someone soon I get engaged to.

There was Dobbs, which benefitted us politically, but it’s appalling the torture women have been subjected to since June 24, and Republican legislatures don’t respect the will of the people or want to give them a voice on this subject. SCOTUS has gone off the deep end. Thanks to everyone who couldn’t be bothered to vote in 2016.

I’m hoping to drop some weight in 2023, hope to be a better me and we’ll see what happens from there.

Also, with Perfect Dark taking place in 2023, I think everybody ought to ring in the year listening to this:

Happy New Year.
