I had to walk my rescue dog every hour (except sleep time) for the first 3 months. Didn't matter about the weather or daylight or dark, he insisted. It was such a relief when we could walk without the leash, then without the harness, and finally he could go out on his own because he acts like the boundary of the property is an actual fence.
