some asshole dumped a couple of roosters near a stock pond of ours off a county road. wtf? why not just butcher and eat them? oh I want to be all rural and self sufficient so I raised up some chicks for eggs. some turned out to be roosters, oh no! I can't kill anything.

reminds me of the fool-yourself, "live-trap and release" idiots that dump mice out for sure death or to become someone else's problem.

3. I feel fortunate

That a farm-owning friend always seems to have room for a rooster if I end up with one. They do butcher their chickens periodically so I’m sure they don’t live out their life.

But yeah dumping is cruel. Rooster, dog, cat, whatever.

Only to catch someone from town releasing an armadillo from a trap.

I'm not sure God created an animal more vile and useless than the armadillo. I don't think much more of the racoon, but at least, they're cute!
