It was a push, neither hole kicker played because of the Ace on the board and the two-pair.

River actually saved the 'losing' player so it's really the opposite of a bad beat.

How the fuck did everyone miss this?

That's crazy.

the "loser" should have objected when the pot was awarded to the other player. Of course the dealer should have spoken the "winning" hand (Jacks and sixes with an Ace kicker) and then, possibly, the "loser" might have realized that he has the same hand.

according to World Poker Tour's Executive Tour Director Matt Savage.... btw, I know Matt really well... I remember when he was a chip runner at Garden City Casino in San Jose.

Of course, this isn't worst "bad beat" story... I played in a tournament many years ago and held pocket 5s, the flop was 5AK rainbow... and I led out with a big bet and was called in two spots... turn was another 5 giving me Quads... and I decided to check my "nut" hand, pot sized bet and call followed... and the river was... another 5. The deck had 5 5s... two 5 of clubs (one of which was in my hole cards).

All the bets were undone and chips returned to the players. Sigh.

My SO once lost all her stack in a cash game to quads under quads

The house had no bad beat jackpot

Not only did the dude take all her money,
but he was also awarded $1200 for the quad high hand jackpot

Not happy heh
