Ha! A man just came to my door to give me an invite to his church

I told him that yesterday the Jehovah's Witnesses were here, (true) and gave me a similar invitation. So he said, "This is the real church with Jesus as our savior"

I didn't say anything but it was funny that they both think they are the only real religion. Even with the same savior they think the other one is wrong. It's funny how people get attached to their particular view of reality.

4. Competition ....

I used to swear that the sidewalk, curb or other mark was made outside my house because they were always coming. When my uncle was alive he would talk to them, me I'd get enough and say goodbye and close the door.
They ring the bell and wait for signs of life, and wait. If I could only get the ones that stuck a card in the storm door when we had severe winds twice. My neighbor saved my door the second time but not before it split the casing.

do not see Jesus as part of the Protestant triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Therefore Lord and Savior. Yet you are totally correct that ALL religions in the Protestant faith think theirs is the only way to reach heaven. My church is in my heart and I trust that church because my heart represents my faith.

I have been a Methodist for 75 years and never once has anyone even hinted that Methodism was the only way.

This is probably also true of Lutherans, Episcopalians, Presbyterians and UCC.

Others...not so much.

16. It's true of Lutherans -

I won't swear to every "synod" buti was raised Missouri Synod which is less tolerant than some and I never heard it was the only way.

In fact, I heard a couple of jokes which strongly suggested it was not the only way.

Like the one about how a mormon meeting a Catholic said, "ah, you belong to the other true church."

And the one about a recently deceased Protestant being shown around heaven's many mansions, most of which had wide open doors and windows and people joyously coming and going - but there was one which was shut up tight. The soul asked what that one was, and was told "Shhh! Those are the Catholics. They think they're the only ones up here."
