Found DU during my obsession with the 2008 election, never posted much but read the forums regularly.

campaigned vigorously for Obama in 2008 because frankly, McCain/Palin enraged/scared the hell out of me, just like Romney/Ryan do now.

I usually only hang out on political forums during election years.

Used to be a Republican; am now a Democrat...the conservative view I still hold on some issues was not enough to overcome the dishonesty, pomposity, racism, and just plain ignorance of the modern-day GOP.

Found DU when I was depressed about the Kerry loss, so I googled "Bush" and "Asshole" and some DU threads came up! Go figure.

There are so many intelligent and articulate posters that I seldom have anything to add, so just lurking is fine with me. I like the polls, so I signed up for those. Also, the lounge amuses me, and the science and environment forums are interesting.
