both be majestic. What about you?

(44,656 posts)We went on several swamp tours in South Louisiana. Alligators are awesome and scary. Neat to see them approach your boat, seeing almost nothing but eyes until the tour guide feeds them. The stuff of nightmares.

They should be in a lot of places where are not.
I was blessed for several years b y living near a pack and I got to hear them sing at night and track them on skis during the day. They are a keystone species and should be seen as such.

(36,894 posts)Very sweet little creature. I have handled them in the wild, after some training. They live a short lifespan of only a few years and not a rabbis vector because of their low blood temperature.

(37,583 posts)here in the PNW. They're daily visitors to the old apple tree just off our property. And the new fawns this year are getting big.

(4,221 posts)for most of my life since 1976 it was 3-4 days at a time, but when I became my own boss it expanded to 5-8 days at a time.
In '76 I was 31 years old. Since then I have spent approximately 1- 1/14 years of my life there, and knew many of the trout by name.
It is my very favorite place in the world.

I had to stop a man from breaking the coating on the hot, sulfur water. He kept on trying to break the coating. I was afraid he would serously hurt himself, so I took his hand and firmly said no.

(2,008 posts)I want to see one live but I kinda don't want to see one because if I can see it then it can see me. That's a scary thought.
It may sound trite but I really enjoy gray squirrels. I like watching them chase each other through trees. It's really cool to see them cross the street on a power line.
If we are talking land, water and air then it has to be a Mallard duck. They hit em all.

(55,134 posts)Nittany Mts in Central PA. They are mountain lions. I like the gray squirrels too. I like there playful nature.
They were not as big as an African lion, but I wouldn't want to tangle with one. Also the males do not have a mane.

(1,230 posts)There are more chipmunks on the mountain than Ive ever encountered anywhere else.
Im pretty sure we have Ewoks, too, though they arent technically North American, and Ive only caught glimpses from the corner of my eyes near the rhododendron thickets.
