I honestly think JFK survival would have made the most difference in the future to our time.

Johnson botched reconstruction so badly it laid the foundation for Jim Crow, the Klan and the next 100 years.

Lincoln would have handled reconstruction differently, and it would have been Klan members hanging from the trees instead of thousands of African Americans.

Second choice: RFK (I know he’s not a president, be had he not been assassinated, he almost certainly would have beat Nixon, and the course of history would have been changed)

continuously since 1861. I think Lincoln really meant it when he said, “With malice toward none, with charity for all.” Had he lived, I think the post war era would have been different, and as a master politician, he may well have been able to manage the Radical Republicans.

Yes, the slaves were freed and that's the most important thing but losing the war didn't change southern hearts and minds.

Garfield was a great, intelligent, passionate candidate and would have been an excellent leader had he fulfilled his potential as our 20th president.

His death, and its aftermath, helped promote an underground Confederacy that still survives in the Deep South and elsewhere, and wrapped in the blanket of his own party.

but I will type the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and prevent WWI single-handedly ( ) and not give Schicklgruber an excuse to launch the Third Reich and not give Trump speeches to emulate by his bedside.

And Kennedy second. And if we’re going beyond presidents, MLK and RFK. Both would have made a really difference had they lived.

He was trying to get out of Vietnam. If he succeeded, 63000 of young men of my generation would have lived! Instead Johnson listened to the generals.
