(21,786 posts)Since most of the stations that would are "rock", and most rock station playlists seem to include a nonstop rotation of the same 5 songs by the Stones, the Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ozzy, and a handful of others along with some more recent stuff, I can't really take it for long (I can go the rest of my life without ever hearing "Hotel California" again, for instance).

(5,364 posts)Non-satellite radio stations are horrible! The rock and classic rock ones are the worst. You described it perfectly. There are times at work that this one co-worker just HAS to have a radio playing when he works with us, and this one local station is the absolute pits. They literally play the same "classic" stuff over and over and over again. Even if they play stuff from a band I like, it's always the most overplayed "hit" or first track on side A type stuff. 6-8 hours of hearing it is unbearable....and then the screaming ads. My head hurts. It's so obvious they're catering to affluent baby boom types who on top of that were never into anything other than top 40 stuff when they were young.
I absolutely hate 'Stairway to Heaven'...and I like LZ!

Ever.

(51,122 posts)SiriusXM is repetitive and commercial, but luckily, lots of other channel choices there.

The five or six standard rock channels blow chunks.

(46,416 posts)I can only remember one song by Nickelback ("This Is How You Remind Me" or whatever it was called)--but apparently there's more, and they drive people up a wall. My husband can't stand them.
