(9,908 posts)There are separate movies with two separate scenes that stick out in my deprived mind.
A Night In Heaven with Christopher Atkins. He plays a male stripper and basically seduces his female professor while he's on the job. It's a very intense scene, at least for me it is. The strip club scene is parodied in the movie Mr. Mom.
By the way, I have had people ask me if I've ever tried the Atkins Diet and I always say, " No, I've never had the opportunity to try Christopher Atkins yet.".
Another movie is Sommbersby. I recently did a rewatch and think they accidently looped the romantic scenes out of order. The scene where Jack and Laurel are having an adult human moment, she starts crying and he asks, "Did I hurt you?" It's a sweet and tender moment.
I'm not giving up the spoiler to this movie either.
Enjoy!

(5,192 posts)Watched it for the first time a few weeks ago. Can't name a specific scene that meets the criteria (iirc, there were several), but was blown away by the chemistry between Kim Basinger and Russell Crowe.
Then I realized how much that believable, raw chemistry and tension is missing in recent films. It shouldn't be an unusual or notable thing, it should be a huge point in casting. If not THE point.
It seems they now just throw together whatever A-list, big box office names they can cast, without worrying how the actors actually mesh. That has led to way too many awkward, obviously forced "romantic" pairings that I couldn't care less about as a viewer.

I guess I am an old fart and I have been married for many years. I want to see the romance and the look of love, the feeling on two arms touching each other. an embrace. I know what comes later. I enjoy that too. But when I go to a move or watch a streaming show I want to see the way couples in love interact nonsexually.

(38,457 posts)didn't make it, Not one person has mentioned the MR film on this thread. Second I checked my edits--no 9 1/2 weeks. Third, MR is not my example of who I would want to be romantic with. What MR did in that movie, that I will mention now , Is rape Lisa Bonet one of Crosbey. s kids. Not in real life, but in the movie. That was why she was thrown on Bill C show. I am a child rape survior, never would I talk about rape as sexy.or romantic , Because , bamage,it is not . And I would never see that movie or any Mickey Rourke movie because his film persona and facial appearance is not to my taste. Get your stories straight before you say anything l You have the wrong thread.

I don't see where the other poster said that you referenced 9 1/2 Weeks. It was just an answer to the question posed in your OP.

(6,151 posts)Bogart ever did with that great lineup of leading ladies. If I have to pick one lady for the steamier side of romance it is of course all of his scenes with Lauren Bacall. To me she always was and will always be the most stunning, beautiful woman in the world. But if I had to pick a movie for the heartbreak side of romance it would of course be all of the scenes between Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in "Casablanca". As a movie with tremendous performances by an entire cast I would take "Key Largo". The cinematography of Bacall in the shadows had such impact it made my jaw drop.
