19. My inferiority complex is getting the best of me.

I've been lagging behind the stellar scores here on DU lately, so I'm wondering how many of you refer to a list of previously-used words when you eliminate your options. I don't, and maybe that's the reason (there are other possible explanations, of course....).

So here's an idea for an informal survey: if you usually consult a list of previously-used words, would you please tick the "Rec" box. Even if you don't actually commend my questioning the use of word lists(!), this seems like a simple way to do a tally and get a sense of how common the practice is (I know it's legal, I'm just wondering how commonly used it is). Thanks.

24. I started using the list at five forks a couple of months ago.

It makes a difference sometimes- today for example. I wanted to use a word ending in _uild which meant either build or guild. I saw that guild was previously used so I was spared the coin flip. As more words are used, eliminating already used words has a greater impact. I think the game would be more interesting if repeat words were allowed.

27. I don't know how to do that, but I do sometimes when I get stuck

Use a site that lets me request a list of 5 letter words with the letters I have right so far, in any order.

28. I never check past words. I think I still average something like 3.4 or 3.5.

I never use the bot or previous word lists. I will use Word Hippo if I feel I'm getting nowhere But if I started looking at list of used word, ot the bot, I'd feel I was starting to buikd my self esteem on Wordle, and I don't was=nt to do that.
