Here in WNC. Especially Asheville snd I have not yet narrowed it down. Lots of testing yet to do😉.
I actually started appreciating good beer, in the early 70’s when My Navy Destroyer parked a few days outside Kiel Germany, and I stopped in multiple pubs to sample real beer.
Always funny how you had to order beer expecting to wait for the head to reduce so you got a full pint.
And you well know it took us a long time from the 70’s for the US to get onboard with crafting good beers.
Bless all our crafting artists here in WNC. We are more that Cawthorn’s and Mesdows’.

in years. I prefer local breweries whenever I travel and I will typically get a lager, pilsner or Stout. I don't like the IPAs.

It's hard for me to watch a rerun, so to speak, even if it's a really good show or episode. If I have the choice, I have to try something you can't get anywhere else. Keeps things interesting

Not an easy decision. It is either A&W Root Beer or Heineken 0.0. At one time it was Spaten Oktoberfest or Boulevard Wheat. As I have "matured" the alcohol has lost its charm.

Though I will have a Singha with Thai food, or a panaché or Monaco (Panaché - lager with fizzy lemonade, Monaco - lager with a splash of grenadine and fizzy lemonade) if it's really hot.
The rest of the time, I drink wine.

Was very surprised because there are too many IPAs and every brewery seems to produce one or more. I was in the brewpub where they make it so I tried it. I drank it every day on the cruise ship home.

...it was a true cask ale at a pub in Hyde, near Manchester. (East of downtown about a half-hour drive.)
Best mouth feel of any beer I've ever had. Silky smooth, very tiny carbonation bubbles, a hoppy kick and a nutty finish.
I went to that pub a couple times each week the 25-30 times I went there, but I'll be darned if I can remember the brand name.
Today I drink mostly Peroni Zero. I like the taste of beer, don't care for the buzz. Zero beers are perfect for me. Takes 32 six-packs of Peroni to equal one regular beer. To catch a buzz I'd have to drink 37.5 gallons of beer. Pretty sure that's impossible!

I really hate lagers, which constitute 90% of commercial American beer. But just about any IPA or other type of ale suits me.

Now that I live in Pittsburgh, I keep meaning to have an Iron City to celebrate. It's lousy beer, though.
