I sleep on my side but I've a problem with the bursa in my rt hip, the main one I sleep on. So, what is a bursa?
It's the small, closed sac filled with fluid that acts as a cushion and gliding surface to reduce friction between tissues in the body. Bursae are located near large joints.
Any suggestions or advice is much appreciated.

Anti-inflammatory medications: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen or aspirin can help reduce inflammation.
Corticosteroid injections: Injections of corticosteroids into the bursa can help reduce pain and swelling. A doctor may use an ultrasound to guide the injection.
The quickest way to heal hip bursitis is to rest and reduce pressure on the area. Avoid any activities or exercises that cause pain in the joints. Resting can help reduce pain and inflammation, promote healing, and prevent further injury or irritation to the affected area.
I'm about to rest on my LEFT side.
Good luck.

(28,460 posts)I try to sleep on my left side but I turn over in my sleep. And later awake in pain. I even use pillows to try to prevent myself from rolling over - it doesn't work.
I take NSAIDs regularly.
And I've gotten a few cortisone injections into my bursa which really helps but is so damn painful for me.
I do appreciate your advice, however.
