(703 posts)That's thinking outside the box. Certainly no creature has sacrificed itself more for the sake of humanity than Mothra.

(703 posts)I have two favorites, The Mighty Thor drawn by Jack Kirby, John Buscema and Walt Simonson and Wonder Woman as rendered by George Perez. The less said about the marvel Thor films and the second Wonder Women film, the better.

(33 posts)I don't do superheroes. That said, it would have to be Wonder Woman.
This is almost solely due to her unique position at the crossroads of feminism, pop culture and Jungian psychology.
One of the best movies I've seen this decade is the film "Professor Marston and the Wonder Women". (2017)
Brilliantly acted and absolutely stunning cinematography. Plus a somewhat privledged glimpse in to the very private lives of Wonder Woman's creators.
R rated for adult themes.

(700 posts)Batman is a portrayal of someone who could conceivably exist.
Also, in general, the Batman movies have been vastly superior to the Superman movies, with one exception ...
Man of Steel is an amazing movie, and its sequel Batman v Superman, is at least as good.
Great stories and actors, terrific special effects, and the very best in riveting movie soundtracks.

(40 posts)Favorite is just way too broad.
From 1980s comics? Swamp Thing.
More recent comics? King Mob in The Invisibles - a whole lot of The Matrix is based on this late 90s series.
Most admired? Thor before he hit the skids.
Best female? Black Widow hands down.
Character my friends say matches me? Phil Colson ...
Character I most identify with? Dopinder from Deadpool.
Most annoying movie fail? Gotta be Jason Momoa being wasted on that terrible Aquaman effort.
Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman ... for the attitude, the way she played the character in the first movie.
If I could spend a day as one of them? Doctor Strange most definitely.

(2,343 posts)They do absolutely nothing for me. They are so utterly preposterous that I cannot suspend my disbelief. I have to be able to suspend my disbelief before I can get into anything -- a movie, a TV show, a novel, a play, whatever. It has to have SOME connection with reality that I can discern.
