Here's what is maybe a lame question:

I'm off to Lowes and/or Home Depot and here's a question:

How much should a three-foot or four-foot by one-inch dowel cost? I need it for physical therapy.

And so embarrassed.

Not worried about full disclosure. You can't be far off.

It will likely cost more at Lowes than at Home DEpot. But Lowes is not quite as far right as Home Depot (I mean the owners, I don't notice any difference in teh staff.)

1" Dowel is between $5 and $8 for a 4' piece. The $5 is for Poplar and the $8 is for Oak. I would go with the Poplar. These are the prices at our local Lowes.
