(2,010 posts)That's the ice cream I always finish, or eat more of than I planned.
Finally realized it's my favorite last year.
And that was my plan, to pick up a pint for tonight!
Thanks for asking

(41,005 posts)Years ago Dryers made Dutch Chocolate that was deep chocolate & not too sweet. Then they discontinued it. Recently I found Private Selection Chocolate Ganache that is even better!! Same dark chocolate, not-too-sweet, but creamier! Probably more calories, too, but so worth it!! In the summer, keep a bottle of peppermint schnapps in the freezer & pour a shot or two over the ice cream for a PERFECT peppermint/chocolate treat.

Itd be easier to name ice cream that I dont like. One of which is an entire brand, which I wont name, that needs to revamp its freezing process. The ice cream is interspersed throughout with tiny ice crystals that give it a gritty mouthfeel. I also dont like fruit flavors that are discernibly artificial. Waxy, tasteless chocolates are another turnoff.
On my recurring playlist lately have been mint chocolate chip, black cherry, peach, and moose tracks. I could subsist on those for awhile.

(4 posts)...which is usually very hard to find in the stores. Edy's makes a very good spumoni (rich chocolate, maraschino ice cream with big chunks of cherries, and non-artificial tasting pistachio with lots of coarsely chopped nuts), but the local stores (Walmart, Kroger, etc., although Kroger sometimes has their own brand of spumoni, but it's only available in-store, and I have my groceries delivered. DARN!) hardly ever carry it, and we don't have a Baskin-Robbins or a Kopp's Custard (I WISH!!!) in our little burg in NW TN. SIGH!

When Ben & Jerry introduced themselves to NYC w a big festival in Central Park; they set up tents where you could write postcards for 3 various causes.
Then you a ticket for each. Hmmm... not sure if 1 ticket = 1 scoop.
Anyway they had a ?slightly sweet ice cream with fresh peach chunks!

(2,560 posts)That's why I've never tried Ben & Jerry's. For years decades, really I've been hearing about how good Ben & Jerry's ice cream is. I keep responding, okay, I'll try it, but then, when I go to the grocery store to buy some, I can't find Ben & Jerry's CHOCOLATE ice cream. All kinds of crazy, exotic flavors, but no CHOCOLATE. So I end up buying Haagen Dazs Chocolate instead which is really good ice cream too.
Until they start selling Ben & Jerry's CHOCOLATE ice cream, I will never try their ice cream. Or any other brand either, if they don't offer their ice cream in CHOCOLATE!

(9,360 posts)Since Kroger and Albertson's between them cover most of the country. you cna pronbably find them.
Albertso'n's now owning Safeway - Safeway has a "Black Cherry Vanilla which comes only in a 48 ounce size, but it's better than Tillamkk's cherry, and that's saying something.
