My real favorite is late winter/spring - usually it has been raining and everything is green You can see snow caps on the local mountains.

Yep. Also a Southern boy and I do not like it cold.

So, I moved to Minnesota!

(I do miss being able to wear shorts almost year round. Growing up on and near the Outer Banks, we would sometimes be wearing big, parka-like coats, work boots, and cargo shorts. Out on the boat fishing... legs freaking red from the cold wind, nose running, wearing gloves and rain gear because of the spray... and still wearing shorts. Beach Bums Unite!)

Oh, well. I had a freak accident on ice that left me w left arm/shoulder ripped rotator cuff muscles over 30 yrs ago. Nasty stuff, recovered. But as a dominant lefty I couldn't work for several months.
So winter became a more fraught experience! No snow, especially No ice!

I do like a clear batch of fresh clean snow, even still. It looks pretty sparkling in the sun.

In Colorado, the sky is a shade of blue in October that you don't see any other month. Not everyday, of course, but on those glorious days the blue is so pure & deep. Pretty sure that's why the Broncos' colors are blue & orange, for the sky & trees in the fall.

39. Near Mid-Spring through the rest of Spring. The Best of Summer (will explain)
Wed Sep 3, 2025, 11:32 PM
Sep 2025

My B-d is 3/21. It's usually the first partial to full day of Spring.
But it took me years to realize that in NYC it wouldn't begin to look like Spring untill about the second or so week of April when little bright spring-green tree leaves started coming out.
Then, the succession of beautiful colorful flowers! Flowering crab apples, and cherry trees!
(am I enthusiastic enough for you?! 😉 )

The best of Summer for me is low humidty, and around 78°F - 83°F being outside. It only happens part of the time. And I need some A/C even w this, especially at night indoors.
Then there are the humid days even at like 75°f°-85f°f. Yuck . I can take a dry 90°f - 91°fonce in while. Anything higher, and more humid - blah.

Spring in GA is beautiful! It would be perfect except for the pollen every year. But summer is & always has been my favorite time of year. Shorts & flip flops forever! I hate the cold. I've lived in GA for 36 years & I've lost my taste for long cold winters.

Spring and Fall are awesome if you don't live in a tropical climate. I grew up in Canada and spent several years on the West Coast of WA State, so seasons figured prominently. Not so much here in Hawaii.
