I knew Hurricane Ike was coming at Houston for 3 weeks.

Just knew it.

It was a long 3 weeks.

I was more then ready, told everyone to get ready.

The waiting is terrible.

Stay safe.

I'm guessing about 35mph winds right now. It will get worse.

The night was a long one.

I think the wind was over 100 mph.

The old house didn't move, the houses were built strong.

Living on the gulf coast we know about Hurricanes.

Hope you keep you power or cellphone towers.

The high-tension lines cut through our property. When the power goes, we hear an explosion (one of the transformers). They repair it fairly quickly, but we've got UPS units all over the house just in case. There are at least ten (probably more) and they serve us well.
