3. In one of the myriad cat threads here on DU, I once said that it takes me about 30 seconds...

...to fall in love with a kitten. Someone replied, "How come so long?"

I fell in love with my Martini at first sight. She was five months old, still a kitten, but not a baby.

5. We had two kittens-- adopted from separate litters in the same house of a little old cat lady--in Lincoln, NE in 1995.

And they became the best brothers to each other for their entire lives. Mouse and Simba. When Mouse died in 2009, Simba was not the same cat. Both Mouse and Simba got along very well with our female Black Golden Retriever mix, Tanya, when they came home to live with us. Tanya had passed in 2008 while we were living in a rental house after our house burned down in 2007. So, after we bought a house later in 2008, I adopted a female 3 year old Golden Retriever mix. Simba and Snowy became best friends. Simba would seek her out and lie down next to her, the same way he had done with Mouse.
