(96,398 posts)My siblings loved trick or treating with me because I'd give them everything not dark chocolate in exchange for their dark chocolate. I ended up with far less candy, but I got the kind I wanted.

Snickers, Reese's peanut butter cups, & peanut M&Ms. I had to keep my dad from appropriating my Halloween candy! He figured it was his fee for taking us trick or treating.

(71,707 posts)I loved the dark chocolate. But I loved the coconut even more. It would get stuck in my teeth, and it would work its way out again so I could chew on it later, like a cud.

(26,015 posts)It may have been the first time I ever had darker chocolate!
Since I was pretty little 7 or 8 yrs old...it wasn't like I was going to the candy store, and buying like, Mounds, York Peppermint Pattie - the 2 dark chocolate candy bars I can think of.
The only other possible incidences would have been chocolate?bon bons gift packages my parents would occasionally receive- that had some dark chocolate items. But I don't know if they got them when I was that young.
And we always got more candy going to our North Jersey cousin's town, than our apt building! 😄
