After 10 + years of this stuff I am reasonably computer literate

which is to say that I am not totally illiterate. But I have a question I hope you (whoever "you" are) can solve.

These days on the url line there is also a search engine. Mine has, until yesterday, been google. Now, for some mysterious reason (mysterious to me) it is Ask.com, which is, in a word, shitty. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to change it back. Now, I know that I can work around this by typing in the google url, but dammit, I am stubborn. I realize also that the answer is relatively simple and probably staring me in the face, but that is really irrelevant.

HELP!

By the google search bar, there is the magnifying glass thing with a down arrow.

Click on the arrow.
It will take you to a "view and manage search providers" page.
Google should be selectable as the default. If it is not, click on "search for providers", find google, make that your default.

Hope that works!!
