My 1,000th post on DU!

Hello all,

I have been a lurker since 2003 or 2004. DU helped me survive the Bush Presidency (little did I know that something amazing would follow the disastrous Bush Presidency and that something even worse would follow Obama's 8 successful years in the White House). I joined DU last year when Biden dropped out of the race (Thank you Joe! He was the first candidate I ever voted for in a Presidential primary in 1988) and I became Star member. I love this community and as my name says I am a Dem for Life.

I was also a multi-decade lurker and finally joined and became a star member when I retired a few years ago. I don’t post much and mostly hang out in the lounge, but I do love it here. I’ve learned a lot and run across all kinds of interesting posts. Not to mention all the cat videos!
