I just received an email from my attorney stating my appeal hearing is set for April 9, 2026. Finally, some light at the end of a tunnel. What a nice gift to receive on the last day of the year!
I know this is a difficult time of year to ask for help, and yet I can finally ask with some degree of optimism that this will really be the end of the line for my SSDI case.
As someone who worked as a an adjudicator wrote in a DU mail just yesterday, the judge can consider more evidence than the adjudicator can. ( Adjudicator, makes me feel like I'm in a John Wick movie lol).
I still have about $800 in January bills that I need to try and raise and then staying at my $1200 or so monthly budget for the next 4-5 months until I get a decision.
This post was going to be completely different, more a reflection on this last year with a request for help. I will write that post separately due to this wonderful development.
So many of you have been so incredibly supportive, literally allowing me to stay at home this past 13 months, and as I've shared time and again, you've been nothing short of a miracle in my life.
Please help me get over what I can only hope is this final hurdle in my case.

Thanks to each and every one of you for your wonderful support. Your words, wishes and donations have done so much more than help me pay my bills. You've given me hope, a belief that I'm worth something, and a blanket that's kept my soul warm throughout.
With Love, John Mckusick
