Bowling is a sport that people can do from ages 5 to 100. It's not an overly physical activity but it's one that requires coordination and the ability to make adjustments as the game goes on. I bowl in two leagues and sub in two other leagues and I'm 75. One league is a fun league where there is competition but everyone has a good time talking with each other and just having fun. The other league is a competitive league of bowlers who are above average. Some of the best bowlers in the county bowl in this league.

As a TV viewer, that's the order.
I'm a nut about baseball history though which is why I have the first 4 innings of Ken Burns' Baseball on DVR!
Not as interested in the history of the others.
I understand the appeal of hockey but I won't watch the NHL until they ban fighting.
The best hockey to watch is the Olympics. Mostly the same players, but fighting is banned & there is less rough stuff.
Why the NHL doesn't see that is a mystery to me.
But, they still cater to a bunch of Canadian cavemen who believe there's something interesting about guys on skates throwing off balance haymakers.

When I was a kid, we'd go to 2 or 3 games at Wrigley each summer.
One of those games had to be against the Pirates because he wanted to see Roberto play.
For a couple years, he wanted to see the Reds because of Rose but I couldn't stand that guy, (even as a 10 or 11 year old) so I talked him out of it.
But, I was always excited to go to a Cubs/Pirates game.

More action than baseball, no CTE brain damage (football), minimal injuries, amazing athletic abilities by the players.

We've been enjoying watching mens & womens games from New Zealand on ESPN+ (Hulu),

It helps that the games are played during the day in New Zealand which gives us a chance to watch it here (US) while relaxing after a busy day.

The "T20" matches are completed in a modest amount of time. I wouldn't recommend "Test" matches, as they go on for days and days ...

And it's fun trying to figure out what everyone is saying .. the New Zealand accent is ... different!

Ours sons, now 35 and 33, each started playing when they were 5, and still play in men's leagues now.

I finished high school in 1969, well before Title 9, and there were no girls' sports teams, so I never played any team sorts. My husband played football in high school, and then lacrosse at the Air Force Academy, and later returned to coach there for a few seasons.

One of the things we found that we liked about soccer when ours sons first started playing was that there is always something going on out on the field, and the time goes by quickly. I've heard horror stories about how long T-ball games can drag on, and on, and on.

There are 5 levels of professional soccer in the UK, and every season, the bottom and top teams in each division are either promoted or relegated to the levels above and below them.

I would encourage people to watch a program called Welcome To Wrexham, even if one is not a soccer fan. Wrexham is a working class town in Wales which is the home to a team called The Red Dragons. The team was purchased in 2022, by Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and Jim McElhenney (It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia). Despite knowing nothing about soccer, they throw themselves wholeheartedly into this endeavor, taking advice from those with expertise, and win the affection and respect of the team and their passionately devoted fans. The team thrives, and moves up in the rankings in 3 successive season. It's one of the most heartwarming stories I have ever watched.

There are 4 seasons.

Here is a brief description from Wikipedia - The series is based on the Hollywood pair's attempts to revive the third-oldest professional association football team in the world, founded in 1864, and how the team has performed under the pair's ownership.[18] The pair had no prior experience in managing a sports team.[8] The series also highlights the pair's hopes of improving the team and bringing positive change to the local Wrexham community.[8][19] The style of the series is irreverent and from time to time it is openly critical of the two Co-Chairmen and their team, presenting them struggling with the Welsh language, and making mistakes.

Generational Cubbies fan. Earliest memory is ducking into my grandpa’s bedroom to hang out with the guys as they played poker and listened to the ball game on Sunday afternoons on the radio whilst the ladies gossiped in the living room.

Biggest disappointment was when WGN stopped carrying the games and now, even with MLB bball app, you can only get into *most* games. Big mistake, man. Cutting fans off like that isn’t going to help cultivate generations of fans to come…

...pointing out that the players actually use their feet thru the whole game. We live in the greater Chicago area, where almost everyone is a fan of Da Bears, so we are careful to do this only with people we know well enough to know they have a sense of humor. Not being a football fan in Chicago is rather like not being a skier when I lived in Denver.

My husband thinks football should be renamed "passball" -

Our older son loves sports trivia, and he was the one who told me how much the ball is in play in a 3+ hour NFL broadcast - very little:

Throughout the three-plus hours that you’re watching an NFL game, there is generally just 15-to-20 minutes of live action. The average NFL contest has roughly 18 minutes of actual gameplay, with more than 100 plays jammed into those 18 minutes. This average has increased, as there were just 11 minutes of live action back in 2010, per the Wall Street Journal.

I remember being puzzled when I was a kid, waiting for a football game that my dad would be watching to be over because then it would be my chance for some TV time. He'd say there were 5 minutes left, and I'd come back 20 minutes later, and there'd be 3 minutes left - what the heck!

Have barely watched a game of anything for this entire century.

When I want a sports fix, I'll watch a film of a pro football game from the '70s (Go, Steelers!), or a baseball game. I lost all interest in sports in the '80s, when in my mind the announcers and commercialization became too much to endure.

Even though the results of, say, the 1975 World Series are already known to me, I enjoy watching the play.

I wasn't into racing until I got invited to go see an Indy Car race about 15 years ago. I was standing at the side of the track when one of the cars went by me at about 200 MPH. TV doesn't do the sport justice. I didn't really get it until I felt it. I live in South Florida so I have been able to attend the Miami Grand Prix a few times. My employer loves the sport so he brings us to the races. If you ever get a chance to go see a race in person, you should do it. I like going to hockey games too, but I never played the sport. Footy is not soccer, it is not rugby, it is not really at all like our football.
It is a strong running, kicking and serving game that is played on an oval that is on near double the size of our American football field.
Goal posts are at either end of the oval and many players run back and forth the equivalent of 17 miles in a single game.
An American from Texas..Mason Cox has played for 11 years with an Australian Football team..The Magpies.. and has been signed with Fremantle to another year contract.
Women play the sport, also. WAFL.
There are many, many AFL videos on YouTube.

I've given up the idea of ever seeing a championship in my lifetime in Cleveland and the Browns stink, and In Believe the college football playoffs left out some of the better teams that could have won. So that's rigged like the Supreme Court, so I guess I have basketball.

Lots of theatrics.....Haystack Calhoun, Crusher Lisowski, Jumping Johnny De Fazio, Bruno Sammartino............ hosted by BILL CARDILLE! (Ah.... as much theater as sport, but it sure was fun!)

Other than that, not a sports fan. "Goofy (Miniature) Golf" is as 'sporty' as I get. LOL!!!!
