(3,085 posts)My last dog did not want anything to do with me when we met. She showed teeth and backed up growling. My wife wanted her, but honestly I was afraid. Okay, she willingly hopped in the car. Despite her original aggression, I kept reaching back to pet her lightly. We stopped to pick up dog food, etc. and I got out of the car.
As I am told, the minute I left she started crying and jumped in my front seat. When I got back in, she hopped on my lap and put her head on my shoulder. I miss her so much. I would like to adopt another rescue. Losing Goldie was painful, but the joy rescues bring, its so awesome. I love dogs. My wife doesnt want to go through it again. I know the end is painful but the time with your fur kids, man, such joy!

(54,988 posts)Almost 6 years. It hurts sooooooo much. Ever since she died she has come back to visit me and I keep a journal of her visits. I guess that shows the bond we have and always will have. I can't wait to go "home" to be with her and my other baby. I'm looking forward to it....I'll finally be happy and at peace.
