My undergrad music theory professor back in the mid-70s had a fascination with the coyotes who lived around his place out in the country. He would audiotape the adults teaching their young how to howl/sing. It really was fascinating--you can hear how they progress as they're learning. Sometimes he'd bring the tapes to class and we'd listen to them (one of his MANY "unique" interests).

He's also the only professor I ever had to "surf" his piano bench. He was a great teacher....
