8. It's an elderberry liqueur.

A nice mixer. And also perfect as an aperitif. And I have a lovely set of aperitif glasses.

12. It has grown significantly since I became interested in cocktail culture a number of years ago.

My latest acquisition is a bottle of butterscotch schnapps. It will come in handy in the making of what I like to call dessert cocktails.

Funny story: I was a tank crewman in the Army. And tankers have a reputation as a hard-drinking bunch. Once, when I was stationed at Fort Knox, I was hanging out in Louisville with a group of liberal friends (most of the people in my unit were pretty right-wing, so I had to get away on the weekends).

I got into a drinking match with a very glamorous, attractive young businesswoman. The poison of choice was butterscotch schnapps. I thought I could hold my own. But she drank me under the table.

14. Every once in a while, I have daydreams about opening a bar

across the street from the Pierce County Courthouse. Cater to the lawyers relaxing after a hard day.

I like the idea of calling it “Association”. Get it? The bar Association. It’s too silly to be anything other than a daydream.
