is my new favorite actor. The name alone is special. The show Sherlock is just wonderful. Each is more like a movie than a TV series. I see PBS has had it listed. So far there are 6 episodes and each is 1.5 hours.
My son tells me Benedict also plays the antagonist, John Harrison, in J. J. Abrams' Star Trek into Darkness to be released next year, depicted Stephen Hawking and is in a few other 1st rate movies like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I saw the latter and can't remember him, probably because that movie just dragged. Now I'll have to watch it again

(38,560 posts)I mean I LOVE TOP GEAR!!!!
There is no good reason for me to like a show about cars that I can't afford and will never drive.
But Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond crack me up!
And don't forget their racing driver.....
"Some say...."

(3,657 posts)watches that show. Oh the shenanigans are something else.
I read huffington and check their Canadian and UK sites too. I was surprised to see how much Jeremy Clarkson is disliked in the UK and the feeling is mutual. He went on a tear about the lack of empathy over the death of his dog. They were all like 'you get what you give' and 'karma baby' Ouch

(73,631 posts)I didn't see what his sexuality was.
Are you sure that it wasn't the other two guys that you're talking about?

This was a change from the book and miniseries that was done more for storytelling economy than any "modernizing" of the story.

(3,657 posts)In Sherlock they often had close ups of his gorgeous hazel eyes and his voice is so interesting. Speaking of the Hobbit movies. The actor who played Dr Watson has a leading role in that...Martin Freeman

He was adorably innocent in that role!

(692 posts)Had blonde hair in it I believe. Also in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
Hoping to see lots more of him; although, if we see him in lots more stuff, Sherlock will go the way of the dodo bird, I'm afeared.

(17,340 posts)Loved the movie, probably because I lived in London in the 1970's and that is exactly how I remember it. Well, apart from the spies.

what one would expect a spy to say....Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
and on topic, BBC America is one of those channels I would riot over if it were taken away. I miss Life On Mars.

(8,692 posts)Also check out The Last Enemy (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0966151/), he stars w/ Robert Carlyle.
In TTSS, he played Smiley's right hand man through the whole thing- Guillam.
Can't want to see him in the new Star Trek.

(3,657 posts)One of the main reasons I loved Sherlock so much, is because he is the star and in 90% of the scenes. So..so good
