A Story About Sunglasses

This is a story from a personal friend of mine. It's also one of my personal favorites.

A number of years ago, my friend was in a chemical spill. Some guys accidentally spilled some chemicals on him and his eyes got badly injured. He's blind as a result, but if you were to look at his eyes, you would see how messed up they were. Because of that, he would always wear sunglasses so people wouldn't be uncomfortable around him.

Because of his blindness I suppose, he learned how to type really well, so he got a job taking dictation. One of his coworkers had a thing about people wearing sunglasses indoors. I don't understand what her problem was so i couldn't tell you. She would always complain about people who wore sunglasses indoors and often made them take them off. So, needless to say, she had a problem with him. She complained about him, often, and loudly.

Finally she confronted him and told him to take those sunglasses off.

She saw his eyes for the first time.

He put his sunglasses back on.

She never complained about anyone wearing sunglasses indoors ever again.

There's a lesson in there somewhere, I think.
