I'm constantly reminded of what great acting the show had whenever I see it. Last night they ran one of my favorite episodes because of its creepy atmosphere, the one in which a stripper is in the hospital and has recurring dreams in which a nurse invites her into room 22, the morgue. After her release from the hospital, flight 22 that she almost gets on crashes and the air hostess looked just like the morgue nurse of her dream.

The episode starred Barbara Nichols, a terrific character actress from the 50s and 60s who usually played comedic roles as a stripper, gold digger, or bleached blonde bimbo with a Brooklyn accent. Some considered her a low rent version of Marilyn Monroe but that lady could really act.

And the nurse inviting her into the hospital morgue in her dream was Alene Martel, who later played Spock's chosen Vulcan fiancee T'Pring in Star Trek.

It's impossible to choose a favorite episode, but this one ranks high on the list. I don't know why my parents let me watch Twilight Zone and Thriller when I was little, but I'm glad they did.

Loved every minute of it. I think I was too young when some of the episodes were taped so I didn't "get" it. That's what I call science fiction.

and I've had it on since I got up today. Haven't really watched that much because I'm having family over for dinner tonight and I've been busy but I just paused long enough to watch the episode where the good Darrin from Bewitched could hear people's thoughts.

You're a very bad man!

I watched this episode a couple of months ago and thought it would seem dated or silly today. It's still just as creepy and terrifying as it was when I saw it as a kid. Rod Serling and Jerome Bixby (who wrote this episode) were way ahead of their time.
