She used to leap from the floor to the top of an 8' door (old house, 10' ceilings) where she would sit and watch for awhile before launching projectile hairballs whereever she wanted.

But since I'm only 5'3", I guess she didn't get higher than five and a half to six feet. But then, I never thought of suspending something from the ceiling for her to try... Someone stole her about 33 years ago, and I haven't had a real jumper since then despite having given house space to at least twelve cats since then... (not counting the six cats I've fostered until they were adopted).
