All are good candidates.
Worst Bond song?
(Tie) For Your Eyes Only (Proof Sheena Easton was sleeping with the producer.) and The Man With the Golden Gun
Orrex
(63,210 posts)But For Your Eyes Only at least as the overall "vibe" of a Bond themesong. Still not the greatest, though...
on edit: actually, I heard Skyfall on the radio again tonight, which is what made me want to post this question. I'm not a big fan of Adele, but that's a great Bond song.

(41,963 posts)Still gets my vote. And I love the movie, purely for the kitschy goodness of Geoffrey Holder. I used to have a huge crush on him. I love a basso profundo.

(18,491 posts)ok, technically the actual song title is "Nobody Does it Better"

(21,925 posts)It kind of has that feeling of dangerous intrigue like Goldfinger.

(63,210 posts)Not to fond of A View to a Kill, both because the song doesn't thrill me and because the movie was such crap, but people seem to like it.
Live and Let Die is great, but weirdly enough I don't usually think of it as a Bond song.

(13,770 posts)Christopher Walken was fucking perfect.
However it featured Grace Jones as a Bond Girl.
Aristus
(66,349 posts)One of the best Bond songs, IMO. First of all: Sheryl Crowe! Hello! Second: it has all the elements a really good Bond song should have: anger, despair, resignation; and the lyrics are disturbingly literal:
"Darling, I'm killed.
I'm in a puddle on the floor.
Waiting for you to return."
It closes out with Crowe's fading voice, and a twangy Bond-esque guitar riff, played very slowly...
Also, special mention for "You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell. No other Bond song rocks harder than this. It opens with the same descending chord progression as "Goldfinger", but increased to breathtaking speed...
Hayabusa
(2,135 posts)in my opinion, really fits the Craig version of Bond and it's a damn good song in its own right.
As for the best Bond song never written, I'd have to go with "Snake Eater" from Metal Gear Solid 3. It seriously fits as a theme for a Bond movie.

(165 posts)I really love all the recent ones (90's to now)...except Die Another Day. It was by far the worst theme song of all and the only one I can't listen to. That includes Never Say Never Again if you want to count it...

(1,815 posts)Just too disjointed the way it goes from ballad to orchestrated action stuff, then hokey music hall.

Skyfall is actually a pretty good runner up.
Live and let die makes me cringe.

(5,354 posts)-It's not a fan fave, nor a showstopper..but it stays with you. And it's performed by Louis Armstrong. That whole film has a great score.
