What is it about "Jericho"?

Now I will start by saying that I have never actually seen Jericho, since I don't watch a lot of network TV. However, it seems that all sorts of people are spamming Netflix's Facebook page asking them to pick up the series and make a third season. They seem quite fanatical and determined about it, as if no other TV series ever got cancelled.

I looked at some of the reviews on Netflix and found that the majority were absolute raves, but about ten percent complained about hammy acting, huge plot holes, and cheesy production values. (Sounds like Revolution, which I couldn't stand for more than two episodes, and the second episode only barely, despite a concept that sounded intriguing)

Looking at the episode synopses for Jericho, I had to wonder if there wasn't some right-wing subtext to the series, and not only because the fans come off like Ron Paul-bots in their utter devotion.

So can someone who has actually seen the series tell me what the fuss is about? (I have too many other things that I KNOW I want to watch to take a chance on what could be a right-wing clinker.) Is it right-wing? Left-wing? Apolitical? Intelligent? Stupid?

but that was a while ago. I have a terribly short memory for TV shows. I know my wife and daughter loved it but more for the main actors than the "brilliant storytelling". I watched it because it was easier than griping about it being on while it was on.

I honestly don't remember any political propaganda POVs. I don't think they got a chance to really get that far.

It was OK but nothing I am clamoring for more of.

Now if you wanted to go to war to get Firefly back on, I'd join that army.

It was left hanging, as was the British series Kingdom, which ended on a cliffhanger.

Well acted, well done. I would not call it right wing at all. Just somebody's vision of what the world might look like if that kind of scenario played out.

The series could have gone on a lot longer.

and my response is that it's pretty good for a Big Three network series, but not worth the fanaticism it has generated.

The way the fans are spamming the Facebook page reminds me of nothing more than Ron Paul fans, a relatively small group but extremely vocal.
