Home needed...

I posted a thread about my neighbor a woman who was abused, who finally got away from her abuser. She took her dog--initially--but came back the next day and opened her car door and just let him out. I have no idea why she did that. The only thing I can think of is she knew someone would take him in--by someone I mean me.

On with the story there's a long history of the dog being left outside for 18 hours or more in the heat with no water or shade. In the cold etc. In the summer I would take water to all their dogs. I called the SPCA many time but they never lost the dogs. Her husband abused all the dogs but especially this one. I saw him kick the dog. He also threw a Chihuahua against the wall and killed it.

It took us from Thursday till yesterday to finally catch him. He was/is very timid and shy. He's currently staying with my mom who has another Chi. The difference that 24 hrs and a warm home makes is unreal.

When I went there to see him today he was so happy to see me (I was kinda his buddy because I gave him treats and water already) he tried to climb up my leg. He plays very well with my mom's dog. There's no toy aggression, he stayed nicely in a crate with no accidents and so far none in the house. He seems to want to please. He's a sweet heart once he knows you're not going to hurt him.

He needs someone that's going to be patient with him and love him. He's not been neutered yet. He would also need a yard that's very secure as he's an escape artist, I know that from living next door to him. Of course they didn't give a shit that he ran away constantly and could have been hurt.

I would keep him except the asshole husband still lives next door to me, and I think it would be confusing to Powder living that close to where he was before. I don't want any chance that he'll go back there.

I live in Delaware, anyone in Delaware, MD, or PA that's interested or might know of a good stable home please inbox me. He really needs a stable loving home.

edited add: As far as I know he's good with children. The family had children including a toddler/grandchildren that played with him.

Here are some pics...

he'll find a loving home. What's his name?

Please give him some love from me.

Thank you so much for helping him.

PS - Try posting this in the state forums, too, as well as in Pets.

I would have named him Freckles cuz he looks like he has them or Yoda cuz sometimes when he sits and looks at you that's who he reminds me of. LOL.

I was going to post it in the states forums but they don't get as much traffic as the lounge but I will probably cross post in pets.

perhaps if no other option you could meet me halfway?

Katie would like having a dog her size to run with while she terrorizes the Budster

I wish I could take him, but I have to take care of an aging mother who doesn't get along with animals. I hope you find a good home for him.
