Which I find fascinating in it's repurposing from big ag back down to manual use.

they attach with rivets and break off on occasion, we carried spares with us...

(810 posts)Carried spares, extra rivets, a decent sized hammer and, believe it or not, a large rock on our old J.D. 520 to replace them in the field.

(68,644 posts)I don't recall them on any of the active equipment on our farm but do have a memory of a modified Model A that had one off the passenger side.
We had that rusting away next to two old glass top fuel pumps!

I've had mine for around twenty years. Very handy for planting, furrowing and weeding and ergonomically just right.
