How long have I looked like a GPS?

I am downtown DC...people keep asking me where this street or that street is...I have no idea, isnt that what smart phones are for? Have we lost the art of looking at a map? I kinda crabby because I am trying to fight off a cold or flu, and don't relish sitting out tomorrow hours on end waiting for the Prezzie...

State-named Avenues are diagonal.
Have fun, and dress warmly tomorrow.

P.S.. The Mall is bordered by Constitution and Independence, and much of the lush green grass you'll see was planted and cared for by our own OBXHEAD!

... in that snotty "Ms Garmin" voice that chides me for ignoring her last instruction to turn?

That's a dead giveaway.

Just accept the fact that other people think you look intelligent & know what you're doing.

So sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope you can fight it off. Maybe get some of those tear-open hand and feet warmers and drink plenty of hot tea with lemon and honey. Could you take a Tylenol or something like it to add to your comfort? It isn't too soon and it will help if you do get sick.

If you can score extra maps, you can just smile and hand one to the tourists who should have their own, but don't.

is when I'm in Mexico, and someone asks me directions to some mundane place that only residents would know about. They assume I'm a Mexican of Spanish descent, and makes me realize that I'm not sticking out like a sore thumb.
