Sure, it looks nice, but it might be an exercise in futility, like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

They are making a lot of changes right now so instead of being seen as a dying giant, I suspect they want to project a more modern image.

Just from an esthetic viewpoint. I like cheatlines ( longitudinal stripes along the window line ) and tradition. It might be more practical though: Yes paint is heavy, but keeping the Alcad polished is a royal pain in the ass.

I like the polished metal look of their planes - it sets AA apart from the rest. But they definitely need an image update.
