I'm impressed

This is a great message:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1259257#post3

"If a post violates the Terms of Service, an administrator can decide whether it is appropriate to ban that person from DU (and here again, we may not always get the outcome we desire). And then there is the most powerful tool of all -- the very soul of any discussion forum -- the "Reply" link. We can explain to people why we think they are wrong. Because that is the only way that minds can ever be changed."

...to actually discuss issues over which there is disagreement rather just running to meta to kick the opposition in the shin was a good thing.

some of the threads, that there seem to be those who make perfectly horrible statements for the twisted pleasure derived from creating outrage and hurt. They are not worthy of a reply and should be shunned by all who care about the issue(s). There are some minds that cannot be opened or enlightened.... Time is better spent is discussion with those who are open to a new perspective.

Just my two cents...

i need to at least put up a correction, then yes, i have learned to ignore those posts.

There is an almost sadistic nature to some of it. I've told you before, I believe, you do a fine job as advocate. I am much too angered by some of it to reply in anything but the most brutal of terms.... I don't tolerate cruel people any better than I do fools.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend.
