"good" meant without holes, or that they cost more than $3.00 at the Dollar Store.

Not that it matters for my purposes, as I fail on both accounts.

I can't remember if it was here in my new hometown of Richmond, IN or my old one of Dayton, OH. I'd never really thought about bras and their expense before I got married. I had no idea how costly they were.

Does good mean a Playtex that isn't all stretched out yet, or something really expensive. If it's the former where does only a tiny bit stretched out fall on the spectrum? Can't answer til I know the criteria.

On second thought, there may be no such thing as a good bra. When I get home from work the first thing I want to do is ditch the bra.

I am thinking, there may be no such thing. How can an article of clothing that you can't wait to remove ever be considered "good?"

As for me, as soon as I remove my bra, I am in for the night.

I've actually tried them and they worked for a while but then stopped.

The thin ones are too thin...the thicker ones caused boils, bleeding, and nasty rashes.

So then I got the flannel ones. Same thing.

Sensitive area. Can't use detergent with scent or dye. No bleach. No fabric softener.

Just extra hot water on the sanitary cycle with dye/scent free detergent and sometimes extra rinse.

There's another separate issue, though, which I'm not going to elaborate on because it really would be pretty gross.

I don't have any sexy bras -- I'm too old for that silliness. I want a bra that does its job when I have to go out.

Comfortable (well, relatively comfortable) and no holes.

My standards are pretty low, I guess. I have had holey bras, and that was many, many years ago. I have had a comfortable bra only twice, and when they sprouted holes, I trashed them and wept.

Pricey, yet worth every penny. I used to have a few, but I believe the husband-beast may have thrown them out in a fit of pique.

When my mother was alive, we used to celebrate a weekly "No-bra day." It was usually a Sunday when the Redskins were playing.

Watch out what you wish for. I can't tell you how many times I look forward to just getting home so I can take me bra off and let the girls be free.

... once they are free, I am home for the night. That's it, game over.

what Raine said...be careful what you wish for...

Once upon a time I was like you...didn't need to wear a bra. What's to support?

Then I got older. Gained some weight.

Now I can't stand to have those things bouncing around free...it hurts.

So I wear a bra all the time...even to bed...although they're comfy sports-type bras.

I honestly don't know how women with bigger breasts than I have can stand it.

If I have some that are inexpensive, but fairly new, the elastic's very good, and if they're comfortable, I call em good.

None are underwired. Would never wear anything so uncomfortable.

Just yesterday went thru the bra drawer and pullled out a half dozen or so because they were tight - but not worn.

Some cheaper bras are good. I have luck with Best Form - really cheap, Sears' brand, Playtex (when they're on sale), but have no $30-? bras that some stores sell. Maybe if I were younger I would care, but the only reason I wear one now is that clothes look better than with no bra. And old habits are hard to break.

Exception is pjs and nightgowns. They look better without.

Who cares anyway?

I wonder how many of the guys wear those thingies that I used to wash for my son when he played ball as a kid...can't think of what you call'em..they wear them where most of their brains are, and I don't mean hats...

First ya gotta measure around your ribs. And go to a good specialty lingerie store if possible, and find out what brands fit you.
I went to this store a long time ago and they really fit well.

www.topdrawerlingerie.com

I have a couple of underwires that are comfy and don't poke me. I have a 42 inch ribcage even though I am five foot two. Fortunately the girls aren't big enough to get in the way. Most of the time I wear a sport bra. They make em now with thin straps so they don't show in the neckline of your t shirt.
