Cat scratched my wicker chair so that the wicker lacing comes off the joints. This is the second

wicker chair the cat has destroyed. This one will not be on four legs for long. Where would you buy a chair to sit in front of my computer? I don't want a desk type chair on wheels. Ikea? Do they make good chairs?

1. IKEA has a pretty good selection of inexpensive desk chairs.

And I understand the wicker problem - one of my cats has managed to claw apart one entire side of my wicker dresser. I don't understand the feline fascination with wicker.

I know they cannot penetrade leather with their claws. No luck. My couch is a huge cat toy at this juncture. She must be really anxiety filled when I am not here and be acting out. The amount of stuff she has gone through and destroyed is huge. She did whine when I and my other cat left her alone as a kitten. She would freak out. Wanted to be with another being all the time. Monster died almost two years ago and I think the scratching has gotten worse. I should probably get her a cat companion but really don't have the room for another cat.

Tall enough and heavy enough so that it is stable and won't start tipping and scare the cat when he tries to use it or he won't use it. I have never had furniture scratched by cats, but they do need to scratch something, so if no scratching posts, expect scratched furniture.

9. Go to a second hand store and get a solid wood one. Then get a thin throw pillow.

Put a towel over the throw pillow to collect the fur. End of problem. Been there.

11. It doesn't have to be an antique - just somebody's unwanted kitchen chair.

You would be amazed at how many fully functional items you can find sitting out for the trash! I've got a really nice stereo system that someone had out with the garbage. I didn't know if it worked or not, but it was in far more recent than what I was using. It works great. My son found a 19" TV with "STILL WORKS" on a sign. He uses it with the XBox. I found an eliptical machine. I've pulled out a lot of fully functional furniture, mostly for storage in the garage. One of the patio tables I found is in constant use during the summer. Just keep your eyes open and scan the discount/second hand stoors and you'll find something. Since the prices are typically really low, get a backup in case the cats shred the first into toothpicks.
