Because 'War Games' and 'Terminator' had nothing to do with this plot line. n/t nebenaube Mar 2013 #5

An exception might be The Thing, based on the earlier The Thing From Another World. The remake of the remake of The Thing was a bit unfortunate in my opinion. If it were up to me, no one would go see inferior remakes in the theater if they can stay home and rent the original. But remakes must make money or they wouldn't be made. There must be a prejudice among certain portions of society against anything old despite the fact the older film is well-directed and acted. Or is it the improved special effects that people want to see?

and a more modern 'take' on the subject. Societal mores don't stand still. I'd actually be interested to see whether the remake had anything different to say.

I'll be interested in what they do with the remake....we are 43 years closer to the reality of a Colossus, after all.

They can't make a movie like it anymore, it's a lot of standing around and little action. Look what they did to Andromeda Strain...
